A Reading Plan With A Lesson

The Perfect Plan?

The Bible is the unique book of all books. But, ask a naysayer and you will get all kinds of resistance to that statement. It's not easy to grasp a book you cannot understand.

On the other hand, YOU just might be different and be able to grasp the simple hidden within what the world calls “complicated” and “hard to understand.” Of course, the Bible is the easiest book in the world to read and understand if one has a sincere and open mind. Without that, it is impossible to grasp. Romans chapter 1 explains that pretty clearly.

Now, to the simple within the so-called complicated.

The SIMPLE in the “Complex.”

Anyone who has ever read the Bible to any extent will recognize this fact. The book is loaded with the number 7. In fact, the Bible is divided into 7 simple sections.

The other day I was reading a statement that explained a reading plan for the Bible. The material explained that since the Bible is divided into 7 sections and the week had 7 days why not combine the two into a reading program. A simple idea from a “complicated” book.

In reading this it dawned on me that here was a potential “teaching moment.” Someone had discovered the idea that one could read a different section of the Bible each day of the week. Then, each week this would repeat until the whole Bible had been read. Then, one starts over again. Little did the writer realize what a lesson this would become.

Let's see:

The SEVEN Sections of the Bible

Most Bible readers seem to not pay attention to this gem of information. But the Bible itself is divided into SEVEN sections. They are:

  1. The LAW.
  2. The PROPHETS.
  3. The WRITINGS.
  4. The EVANGELS and ACTS.
  5. PAUL's Epistles.
  6. The GENERAL Epistles.
  7. APOKALYPSIS, or Revelation.

The SEVEN Day Week

Now, the Bible uses numbers for the days of the week. Most of us are used to the “pagan” names of the week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Be that as it may, here is how the days of the week and the 7 sections of the Bible line up:

  1. Day ONE — The LAW.
  2. Day TWO — The PROPHETS.
  3. Day THREE — The WRITINGS.
  4. Day FOUR [Middle of the week.] The EVANGELS and ACTS.
  5. Day FIVE — PAUL's Epistles.
  6. Day SIX — The GENERAL Epistles.
  7. Day SEVEN — APOKALYPSIS, or Revelation.

So, here is the reading plan. On Day ONE read a section of the LAW. Then, the next day, Day TWO, read a section from the PROPHETS. Keep going thru all the days of the week. Thus, every day you are reading a different section, and every week you are reading information from all sections of the Bible. A balanced reading program for sure. Finally, when one finishes a section, then start all over again. A lifetime reading program.

That's simple enough, right?

The TEACHING Moment

The Bible really is simple, and this reading plan teaches more than just to read a portion of a section of the Bible each day of the week. What we find here is a beautiful PATTERN throughout the Bible. Once this pattern is learned all kinds of information begins to fit together.

First off, you now know the 7 sections of the Bible. You also know that the Bible uses numbers for the days of the week. But what else does this teach, almost automatically?

Well, by learning the 7 sections of the Bible, one can go on and learn which books are in each section. For example:

In The LAW section are five books:

  1. Genesis
  2. Exodus
  3. Leviticus
  4. Numbers
  5. Deuteronomy

So, you can see that on every Day ONE of the week you will be reading one of these books. After a few reads you will never forget their order. Nor the order of the other books in each section you come to.

Added to this lesson, you will learn something about the Messiah of the Greek Scriptures. Both the “Old and New Testaments” show that the Messiah was to be cut off/killed in the midst of the week. And, He literally was. He was not slaughtered on a Friday as the world teaches. No, He was slaughtered in the middle of the week.

So, what is the teaching moment for this? Well…. it just so happens that the FOURTH section of the Bible is the EVANGELS and ACTS. These are the books that describe the life of the Messiah, and result of His life, death and resurrection.

One thing we learn here is this: the Bible is a very SPECIFIC book when it comes to consistency. Look:

The PATTERN

  • The Bible is divided into SEVEN sections.
  • The week is divided into SEVEN days.
  • The MIDST or MIDDLE of the week is Day FOUR.
  • The FOURTH section of the Bible is EVANGELS & ACTS.
  • That FOURTH section of the Bible is about the MESSIAH.
  • He was to be killed in the MIDST of the week [4th day], and was.
  • The PATTERN fits when put together.
  • Every fourth day of the week you read about the Messiah on the day of the week He was killed.
  • The MESSIAH is the CENTER message of the whole Bible, and the exact books of the Bible about His life are exactly in the center of the Bible when properly divided into the 7 sections.

With this pattern one is now set to overlay the other patterns of sevens. One example to entice you to look further is the first verse of chapter one of Genesis. In the Hebrew that verse has SEVEN words. Those SEVEN words gives us the whole Bible in this way:

Each of those seven words represents one of the seven sections of the whole Bible. And, it just so happens that the FOURTH word in that seven word sentence represents the MESSIAH. It is the word John was bringing to our attention when he wrote John 1:1 which says, In beginning [i.e. In Genesis] was the WORD, and that WORD was ATh in Hebrew, the Aleph Tau, or in John's Greek text, Alpha/Omega.

Yes, one might consider this reading plan for totally simplifying what the world makes “complicated.” I suggest you give it a try, and continue for life. Doors of understanding will open beyond what you can grasp right now.

Happy reading!

More Religious Change Coming! — Israel to ACCEPT the Messiah?

More Religious Change Coming! — Israel to ACCEPT the Messiah? (Part 4)

As mentioned in earlier articles, a major religious upheaval is coming on the earth. Two major events are to occur that will utterly surprise the world. They are:

1: The Middle East nations will accept YHWH as the Creator of the universe. And, they will begin to worship YHWH as described in the Bible.
2: Israel will soon accept the Messiah of the “New Testament.” However, they will not be accepting the Christian Christ, but the New Testament Messiah who’s name is Yahshua.

To say the least, the world will be shocked when this soon to occur event comes to pass.
So, let’s talk about Israel first.

THE COMING CONVERSION OF THE NATION OF ISRAEL.

The Bible is very clear on these events. The question is not whether this is what the Bible teaches or not. The question should be, in the minds of the critics, is the Bible true, and therefore, will these events occur. And, will they occur in our lifetime?

One specific prophecy about Israel, and our day is this:

“And I will pour upon the house of David,
And upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
The Spirit of grace and of supplications:
And THEY [Israel] shall look upon ME [the Messiah] whom THEY have PIERCED.
And THEY shall MOURN for Him, as one mourneth for his
only son,
And shall be in bitterness FOR Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
In THAT DAY [our day and time] shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem.”

Not long after this change of heart by Israel, the land of Israel will be cleaned of idols, Christian, Muslim and Jewish idols. Israel will change dramatically for she will receive great spiritual understanding and strength from the Father YHWH.

“In THAT DAY there shall be a fountain opened
To the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem
For sin and for uncleanness. [A fountain to cleanse them.]
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith YHWH of hosts.
That I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land,
And they shall be no more remembered.”

You should read the rest of this prophecy on your own. Look it up and read it!

So, we can see Israel is about to make a dramatic change before the eyes of the world.
Not long after this, if not almost simultaneously, the Arab world, and others, will change their religions and begin to worship YHWH. In fact, they will all begin to make pilgrimages to Jerusalem to worship YHWH. And, where will their pilgrimage take them? Why, not surprisingly, to the new Temple to be built there, soon. It may start, or become active by 2018!

To tell the story of the change coming in the Arab world, and the rest of the world, will require another article. But, for now, let’s just consider Israel and her change to accepting the Messiah of the Greek Scriptures. How can that be possible?

THE COMING CONVERSION OF ISRAEL — HOW?

Already a great movement has begun at the highest levels of Judaism. Hardly recognized by the world at large, and not recognized by the Arab neighbors of Israel. But, this change will lead, surprisingly, to the change coming in the Arab world, and other nations of the world.

Israel is made up of a “peculiar” kind of people. In fact, their Biblical description is not much different from that of other nations. However, Israel expresses much more of that description. What is that description? The Bible clearly says Israel is a STUBBORN, STIFF-NECKED REBELLIOUS people. And, when the Bible says that, it means just they. They fit this description perfectly.

So, what would cause a stubborn, stiff-necked rebellious people to finally BEND and admit they were wrong about the Messiah of the Greek Scriptures, and finally accept Him, and that in our day? It’s simple, really. And, in fact, YHWH Elohim, the Elohim of Israel, has already begun to work on that stiff-necked rebellious stubborn mind.

To anyone who knows the Scriptures, it becomes obvious when reading recent Jewish perspectives on Yahshua, incorrectly called “Jesus” by them and the rest of the world that this change has already begun.

Besides the fact that YHWH has begun the spiritual and subtle leading of the mind of Israel, He is also using the mindset of Israel to “ease” the transition to accepting Yahshua. How? By a very simple insight being given to the religious leaders of Israel today. And, that insight? That Yahshua was always part and parcel of Judah and Israel. And, that all the Greek Scriptures about Him were all the product of the Jewish peoples! In other words, Yahshua and the Greek Scriptures were always of Israel from the beginning. Let’s see how this is finally being explained. Even the stiff-necked, rebellious and stubborn mind of Israel cannot stand against this new insight forever.

THE RELATION OF ISRAEL WITH THE NEW TESTAMENT AND ITS MESSIAH

“The model of family resemblance therefore seems apt for talking about a Judaism that incorporates early Christianity as well. This expanded understanding of ‘Judaism’ completely ALLOWS FOR THE INCLUSION OF THE EARLIEST GOSPEL LITERATURE within its purview, thus making the earliest and in some ways most FOUNDATIONAL TEXTS of Christianity–JEWISH.” — p. 22, The Jewish Gospels, The Story of the Jewish Christ, c. 2012! [Note: All emphasis in these quotes is mine.]

“By now, almost everyone recognizes that the HISTORICAL Jesus was a Jew who followed ancient Jewish ways. There is also growing recognition that the Gospels themselves and even the letters of Paul are  PART AND PARCEL  of the religion of the People of Israel in the first century A.D. What is less recognized is to what extent the ideas surrounding what we call Christology, the story of Jesus as the divine-human Messiah, were ALSO PART (if not parcel) of Jewish diversity at the time.” — ibid, p. 22

In other words, IF we can “own” them, then they are ours, which leads to being able to accept the Messiah of Israel described in the historical documents of Israel. Remember, these documents were written by Jews, except for possibly Luke. And, Paul says the Scriptures were given to the Jews to preserve.

Now, let’s look at the perfect “reason” for the coming acceptance prophesied by the Bible and stated there by YHWH Elohim, the Elohim of Israel.

“By blurring the boundaries between ‘Jews’ and ‘Christians,’ we are making clearer the historical situation and development of early ‘Judaism’ and Christianity. We can understand much better the significance of OUR HISTORICAL documents INCLUDING the GOSPELS, when we imagine a state of affairs that more properly reflects the social situation on the ground of that time, …” — ibid, p. 23.

And, who might you think is writing this kind of information today? The proper authorities who are being guided by YHWH Elohim. Remember, “no one can come unto the Son unless I (YHWH) call him.” That calling has started, and right on time according to Biblical prophecy. Now, a short description about the authority quoted above…

” ‘DANIEL BOYARIN,’  A PROMINENT CONSERVATIVE rabbi confided to me [ Jack Miles] not long ago, ‘is one of the two or three greatest rabbinic scholars in the world,’ and — dropping his voice a notch–‘possibly even the greatest.’ ” — ibid, p. ix

Mr. Boyarin has presented to the present era a very important work. Not all may see, or agree with his presentation yet, nor that of mine saying this is the first step toward fulfilled prophecy, but it’s timing, in spite of all of us, is quite, shall I say, TIMELY.

As has been said, “Times are a changin’.” Are you ready?
