What is the EVANGEL?
As explained in part 1, “gospel” is not a word that adequately covers the Greek word “euangellion.”
As mentioned, “euangellion” is a two-part word meaning “well message” or “wellness message.” That is, the whole Evangel is about a healing message, for mankind, for the earth, and for the entire universe.
We also mentioned that Evangel does not mean intrinsically “good news.”
Perhaps, for some, or many, this comes as somewhat of a shock. But, why should it? One who understands the Bible knows that many things are to be opened up for us today that were closed till now. Daniel 12:9-10 is clear on this matter. Not only that, Daniel shows clearly that not all will or can understand. Too many have become “old wineskins” and are not capable of holding and handling what is now being opened to us. Many of my friends from the old RCG, WCG, and their splinters, plus the SN groups have become “old wineskins.”
The problem with being an “old wineskin” is multifold. First, and foremost, an “old wineskin” cannot fathom being such. They believe with all their being they are just “holding fast to the faith once delivered to the saints.” Secondly, it is dangerous to be an “old wineskin.” That is because, believe it or not, the “seemingly new” information can weaken their faith and cause them to stumble. There are lots of reasons for this. One being, they have lost the thrill of growth in “grace AND knowledge.” They have stifled the spirit. They believe they are rich in knowledge, and therefore, know it all.
However, the discussion of “old wineskins” is another topic. I just present it here to warn everyone that this is a hazard to many who were once hot in their search for the FULL teaching of the Bible. This is mentioned in the book of Revelation in the statement “you are neither hot nor cold.”
The EXTENT of the EVANGEL.
Within Scripture are several “different” Evangels. Generally speaking, one can count up to EIGHT Evangels. Normally, and wrongly, called “gospels.” Let’s then, look at one of the Evangels mentioned in the Greek Scriptures.
The EVANGEL Presented to Abraham.
This WELLness message, or Evangel, was presented to Abraham in Genesis 12:3. And, mentioned byPaul in Galatians 3:8. Here, first, is what Paul was inspired to write.
“Now the scripture, perceiving before that YHWH is justifying the NATIONS by faith, brings before an evangel to Abraham, that In you shall ALL THE NATIONS be BLESSED.” But, that’s not all. Notice this.
“So that those of faith are being BLESSED TOGETHER WITH believing Abraham.” Gal. 3:8-9
So notice, the nations are to be BLESSED, as are those of THE FAITH, together with Abraham. Here we have 3 groups to be blessed. First, the nations, all of them. Second, those who are of the FAITH, in other words, those in the ekklesia. Third, Abraham. That just about covers every human, don’t you think?
So, what is this Evangel to do? BLESS the NATIONS, those of THE FAITH, and Abraham. What does that imply?
Well, before discussing that, let’s see what is said about this in Genesis 12:3.
“I will BLESS those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and ALL PEOPLES on earth will be BLESSED through you.”
Again, notice the word BLESS mentioned here! This is important to understand for it gives another dramatic clue as to what the Evangel does and IS.
Remember the two-part word “euangellion”? EU- being the prefix to help set the following word’s nuance and meaning. The second word being “angellion,” the Greek word for “message.” Also, the word that gives us the word “angel.”
So, let me ask you a question, assuming you have read part 1 also. What is the PREFIX of the two-part word? And, what meaning does it carry within itself? Let that set in a moment! Now, let’s get to the BLESSING of the Evangel given to Abraham. This is important to grasp.
Galatians is clear, is it not, that the nations, the ones of the faith, and Abraham are to be BLESSED? Right? What does that mean? What was Paul inspired to write in the Greek language for the word we translate “bless(ed)?” Here it is, look at it closely:
ENEULOGEO, bless in
EULOGIA, blessing, bounty
Now, let’s look again at these words used for bless. EUlogeo, enEUlogeo, EUlogia. Notice anything outstanding, or consistent in each word? It is EU-, the prefix that means WELLness. So, these are also two part words just as is EUangellion. Right? Ok, what is the second word of these two part words? A form of “logos”. Do you see that? So, what do we have here? We have, “WELL-WORD” or “WELL-SAYING.” Remember also, the Messiah is the LOGOS.
Putting the Evangel with the word Blessing, notice a striking similarity most have never noticed.
Evangel = WELL MESSAGE
Bless = WELL SAYING (WORD)
Both Evangel and Blessing have to do with healing/health/healthy carried through with the prefix EU-. In other words, a message/saying about WELLness of the nations, of those in the Faith, and Abraham.
What we find then is this. The WELLness Message of Salvation is for the HEALING of the nations, the Believer, and Abraham. Everybody. The healing is accomplished by presenting a WAY, the Messiah, to do away with sins, HEAL the body, mind and spirit, via the Messiah, and grant eternal life. One can live for eternity only within a healthy body, physical or spiritual.
That is the message, the WELLness message, the Evangel. All and everything will be healed through the Messiah. Man’s HCS will be completely healed and done away with.
Man is always complaining about illness, wars, pain, death, etc. upon the earth, and how YHWH is not fair to permit them. Well, here’s the WELLness Message. ALL of that is to be HEALED, so that when all things are made right, there will be no more tears, pain, death, suffering.
Now, would you rather hear a manmade “good news” “pump me up momentarily” gospel? A feel good gospel? Or, would you rather have the WELLness Message that is clear about what YHWH is about, and is doing for us, and why?
