The TRUE Messiah — Who IS He?: A Prophecy Coming True?

7.1     A Prophecy Coming True?

Take heed that no one deceives you.
For many shall come in My name, saying,
I am the Messiah,
and will deceive many.” Matthew 24:4-5

Have you ever heard the expression, “Put up or shut up”? Usually we use this expression when we want bottom line validity of something.

Another way of saying this is, “Put your money where your mouth is.”

We believe there is a way to find out who is right about the use of Yahshua vs. Jesus. And we feel obligated to tell you how to test it – something you can sink your teeth into. Once all is said and done, there will be no doubt whatsoever which name should be used.

First, let me ask you this personal question. How do you personally prove to yourself that something is true or not? How do you finally come to the decision you are correct or have been told the right thing? Do you have a way of knowing? I do.

Have you ever been in the position of not being able to make a decision? Perhaps you were told or taught one thing by one person and you turn around and ask someone else what he thinks. His answer sounds correct but it is different from the information you initially received. Now what?

The Bible provides us with the answer to this problem.

The Messiah faced this same problem with the people who came to Him. Often His answers differed from what the people had been taught before. How were they to believe this Man?

Here is His simple retort for you and for me.

My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wants to DO His will, he shall KNOW concerning the doctrine, whether it is from Elohim or whether I speak of Myself.” John:. 7:16-17

If you will read other translations, this is what you will find. All He is saying is this. If you want to know if it is YHWH’S will, actively DO it long enough to find out if it is of YHWH. I don’t know of any other really honest test, do you? The only other test is to rely on someone else’s word or opinion.

Do you rely on someone else’s opinion on this matter just because they have a “name” for themselves? Or, are you like the man from Missouri who says: “Show me!

Do like Yahshua says, DO IT and if it works, then it is YHWH’s will. Otherwise, it is not. Then STOP DOING IT. What better proof is there than “self-discovery?”

If the above, plus all the material given so far is not enough to prove you should worship Yahshua, not Jesus, then here is the ultimate, testable proof.

Reread the scripture that starts this chapter. Read it slowly and digest what it says.

First, doesn’t it say, “IN MY NAME?” Whichever that Name is, it is HIS Name, right? What Name do you hear today? Isn’t it the name “JESUS?”

Okay, now. In the Greek “en” or “in” also has the meaning of “upon.” Thus at the least one translation says, “many will come UPON My Name.” So what’s the point?

Simply this. If we are right in saying His Name really is Yahshua, instead of Jesus, then, what does the above verse say? It says that in the end time, many will come upon or in the Name Yahshua. So, here is the prophetic test.

Watch, keep your eyes and ears open, and see if the Name Yahshua  [and the first century form Yeshua] starts replacing the name Jesus. And not just by a few people, but by MANY.

Most prophetic commentators believe we are living in the time of the end as described in Matthew 24. If so, as we get closer to that “end” some name will reach more prominence. Watch and see which name. That’s all. Just watch and see. You can “bank on it ” that it will happen.

[Update: When this was first written in the 1980’s, the name Yahshua, and the name Yeshua, were barely heard of. Now, look at TBN, DayStar, etc. and you will see a dramatic change going on. And, it isn’t over yet.]
